France
Start date: 8th May

Several flights cancelled due to strike: hundreds of flights have been cancelled due to the air traffic controllers’ strike at Paris, Lyon, Toulouse, Nantes, and Beauvais airports in France. The Marseille Area Control Center is reportedly experiencing the greatest impact. Additional cancellations during the strike are likely and long delays are anticipated.

SNPL pilots to go on strike: pilot union SNPL plans to begin a nationwide strike on May 14 due to a new transport law discussed in parliament. The strike may affect all airlines operating in France and could result in flight delays, cancellations and congestion at airports.
Poland
Start date: 6th May

Postal employees begin strike: employees of the postal operator Poczta Polska, together with the trade union Solidarnosc, have started a strike. The strike action has been planned for May 6-10, with minimal impact expected on postal services.
Israel
Start date: 4th May
End date: Ongoing
Due to the security situation, there have been interruptions and delays in the delivery and collection of mail in the south of Israel since Saturday 4 May.
There is no indication on the duration of delay at present and we’ll provide an update when further details are available.
Canada

Flooding affects road traffic: widespread flooding following snow melts and heavy rainfall has affected road traffic in southern Ontario, Canada. Several roads have been closed in the affected areas: Bracebridge, Huntsville, Minden Hills, and Muskoka Lakes.
New update issued on 9th of May: flood-related disruptions persist. Particularly affected are the wider Ottawa and Quebec areas. Multiple roads have been closed in Pointe-Gatineau, Lac Beauchamp, Masson-Angers, Aylmer, west of Montreal and south of Quebec City. The situation is expected to improve as clean-up work continues throughout the area and flood waters recede.
China

Adverse weather to affect road traffic: heavy rainfall is forecast in the southern Chinese provinces of Guangzhou, Guizhou, Jiangnan, and Guangxi, with a peak from May 7 to May 8. Traffic congestion is likely to occur in the affected areas due to flooding.

The month of Ramadan has started from 5th May 2019 and continue until 4th June 2019, dates may vary depending on country. Deliveries to any of the countries listed below may be impacted due to a change in the working hours, for this period only.
Please note during the month, working hours and staff will be reduced, this may have an impact on deliveries and customs processing.
Eid Ul Fitr (Expected from 5th – 7th June 2019)
During the Eid celebration, there will be no deliveries to the countries listed below. Exact dates will be confirmed closer to the celebration.
The following countries will be impacted:Â Bahrain, Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia,United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
Thailand – lithium batteries

The designated operator of THAILAND, Thailand Post, would like to inform the designated operators of other UPU member countries that, relative to article 19 of the Convention in regards to the acceptance of lithium batteries and cells in letter-post items and postal parcels, Thailand Post has carefully examined the regulations and requirements of both the UPU and the International Civil Aviation Organization. Thailand Post prohibits lithium batteries and cells in all international mail shipments. This prohibition applies to items sent through both air and surface mails in open and closed transit through Thailand.
Designated operators of UPU member countries are advised to take note of this information when sending mail to or through Thailand.
